Design Week Portland Open House

Design Week Portland Open House
Wednesday, April 18, 4:00-7:00pm

Oregon College of Art and Craft has been at the vanguard of the maker movement in Portland for over 100 years. You’re invited to our open house to see “Whitney Lowe: By Design,” an exhibit of works in ceramics by design and process. Lowe's current ceramic work is spatially intricate, with an emphasis on the sharpness of edge to create line. A display of the jigs and fixtures used in the creation of his ceramics will reveal the artist’s manual process and practice. Visitors will learn about the fundamental principles of design expressed through form, surface, line, light and shadow. Lowe’s work will reveal one artist's voice influenced by architecture and design, inspired by art, and made manifest through craft, offering inspiration to the creative spirit in us all. Whitney Lowe is represented by Froelick Gallery.

Light food and refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.
