Upcoming Hoffman Gallery Exhibit Listed in the Oregonian
A recent article on the Oregonian's website included a mention of an upcoming OCAC exhibition in a piece on local art shows. The article, entitled "10 Portland art exhibits to brighten your winter," lists the Hoffman Gallery's Cuban Ephemera: Exploring Aesthetics of Cuban Design exhibition with artists Michele Miyares Hollands and Idania del Rio.
More about the upcoming exhibition:
Cuba has a rich history of poster art, from revolutionary posters sponsored by the Castro regime through current times, with a new generation of graphic designers riffing on art, movies, music and politics. Oregon College of Art and Craft, Pacific Northwest College of Art and the Portland chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts are collaborating to mount an exhibition of contemporary work. It features two Havana-based designers, Michele Miyares Hollands and Idania del Rio, who will be in Portland for a public lecture on Feb. 19.
The exhibition will run February 15 - March 10, 2018 at OCAC's Hoffman Gallery.
