COLLECTION INFORMATION:

The Greenstein Lab
The Greenstein Lab was launched in 2015 as a flexible space for exhibiting and promoting contemporary art. Previously an industrial laser laboratory, the building was renovated by renowned Seattle architect Tom Kundig to integrate industrial elements from the building’s history with flexible exhibition spaces that accommodate both large and small-scale artworks and installations.

Exhibitions at The Lab feature post-war modern and contemporary works of painting, photography, and sculpture from an international roster of artists with a special focus on the areas of American Minimalism (Judd, Flavin, Andre, McCracken), post-war German (Kiefer, Richter, Kippenberger and Baselitz), Korean Dansaekhwa (Lee Ufan, Ha Chong-Hyun, Park Seobo, Chung Chang-Sup, and Kwon Young-woo), and Gutai (Shiraga and Kusama). Currently, The Lab is also exhibiting several installations from influential but historically under-appreciated artists Mark Tobey, Norman Bluhm, and Nicholas Krushenick.

The Brotman Collection
The Brotman Collection begins with post-war New York School Abstract Expressionists and includes American, British, and European artists with a heavy emphasis on works by German artists, including Anselm Kiefer, Georg Baselitz, Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Martin Kippenberger, and Albert Oehlen. Also on view are commissioned outdoor sculptures by Richard Serra and Anish Kapoor and an indoor Skyspace by James Turrell.

The Grinstein Collection
The Grinstein Collection includes predominantly post-war American masters, with a concentration on works by New York School painter Philip Guston. Works by Antony Gormley, Anselm Kiefer, Brice Marden, and Gerhard Richter are also on view.
